The Nutrisystem diet emphasizes on “good” carbs. Those are carbohydrates that get absorbed by the body slowly thus encouraging stable blood sugar levels (low glycemic). By keeping blood sugar levels low, your insulin levels remain also preventing your body from storing fat.Combined with a low fat diet, excercise, and frequent smaller portioned meals, the glycemic index diet is also supposed to make you less hungry.
How it works The diet consists of 3 meals plus snacks which cost about $10 per day. You order the food up front and receive a shipment in the mail. None of the food needs refrigeration. You must supply around 65% of the total food for the diet on your own, in the form of yogurt, salads, cheese, bread, the low GI carbs, etc. The food that you are shipped is the basic base meal for each meal. Customers can customize their orders to include their favorite foods. This diet is similar in its approach to the South Beach Diet and the Sonoma diet, which are both based on keeping blood sugar levels down. It is one of the best low glycemic index diets that includes ready made meals.
